For most Australian football fans, the closest they come to their favourite English Premier League club is staying up late on Saturday night and tracking the live scores. However, what if we told you both Liverpool and Arsenal are coming Down Under to take on Sydney's top teams?

At the conclusion of the current EPL season, the reds of Liverpool and Arsenal will venture south – allowing fans to watch their favourite teams in real life. Have you got your scarf ready?

Liverpool FC versus Sydney FC, May 24

Liverpool will go up against Sydney FC in a post-season friendly. This will be Liverpool's first match in Sydney and is just a few days shy of marking the club's 125th anniversary, so it's set to be an exciting event.

Club ambassador and legend Ian Rush announced the match and said the Merseyside club is "looking forward to a great match against one of Australia's best A-league teams."

Despite playing halfway around the world, the Reds have no shortage of support in Australia. When Liverpool played against Melbourne Victory in 2013, 95,000 fans turned out at the MCG, and in May thousands of domestic and international visitors are expected to flock to Sydney to support them again.

The game will take place at ANZ Stadium and tickets for the match are on sale now.

Arsenal FC versus Sydney FC, July 13

ANZ Stadium will shake with fans' enthusiasm for two days in July, with North London heavyweights Arsenal booked to play back-to-back games against Sydney opposition.

"It's 40 years since Arsenal last visited Australia, so we're delighted to partner with and play in one of the world's great cities where we have a very strong and loyal Arsenal following," said Arsene Wenger, the team's manager.
