Everyone knows that breakfast takes the title for the most important meal of the day. With that said, if you've touched down in Sydney in the search of the city's best breakfasts, look no further.

Our central city located hotel is the perfect place to use as your base when on the hunt for Sydney's top brekkies. Experts in stylish and affordable accommodation as well as everything Sydney, check out the top five must eat breakfasts below.

Single Origin Roasters

Single Origin Roasters are all about the coffee, if you hadn't guessed already. Although their many cosy cafes churn out expertly brewed and crafted coffees daily, they also serve up some of the best breakfasts in Sydney. Their toasties are a city favourite, more specifically the Mr Croque. Featuring thick cut, smoked ham, gooey cheddar bechamel and pickled veg, it's a sandwich worth waiting for.

Fountain

Fountain is the new art deco eatery on the block of Potts Point and, it's just a mere four minute walk from the Macleay Hotel. The interior features large arched windows, marble and gold accents, blush pink walls and a handful of potted plants for good measure. Take a seat inside or outside and get ready to dine on their Fountain duck fat hash. Find bacon, avo, soft poached egg, salsa and of course, the hash, all expertly balanced on top of one another!

Concrete Jungle Cafe

25 minutes on the train will lead you to Concrete Jungle Cafe in Chippendale. As the name suggests, the interior is made up of industrial fixtures mixed with hanging baskets and assorted plants, hence 'Concrete Jungle.' The menu features colourful dishes ranging from smoothie bowls right through to their showstopping bircher muesli. An edible masterpiece, it's comprised of pomegranate, figs, pistachio, grapes and finished off with a strawberry and rose consomme. It almost looks too good to eat – almost.

Kansas City Shuffle

Located in The Rocks, just a leisurely 30 minute stroll from Macleay, lies Kansas City Shuttle. Focusing on fabulous cafe fare and top-notch coffee, grab yourself a seat in this bare-bricked eatery and get ready to eat. Order in the pancake. Yes, one is certainly big enough, 9 inches in fact! Smothered in lemon curd and topped with cream cheese parfait, seasonal berries and almonds, this fluffy pancake is naughty, but oh so nice.
