Which festival will you attend in Sydney this season?

With warmer weather comes a whole lot of beach trips, el fresco dining and of course, a fantastic array of festivals. From comedy to music and everything in between, when staying at The Macleay Hotel you're never too far from the action.

Sydney Festival

What better way to experience a festival in Sydney than at the aptly named Sydney Festival? From January 6 – 29 watch Sydney come to life as the city celebrates the creative talent of its people and beyond. From theatre to indie rock performances, burlesque to contemporary dance, the festival encompasses every single art form over a variety of venues, including Sydney Opera House. With something for everyone, there's no excuse to miss out on this jam-packed festival.

St Jeromes Laneway Festival

There are a total of 346 music festivals in Australia, according to Music In Australia, but one that continues to draw in crowds from far and wide is St Jeromes Laneway Festival. Once again, Laneway Festival is held at SCA and Callan Park in Rozelle – just over 30 minutes on public transport from your Potts Point Hotel. See a host of Australian artists such as Amy Shark and Alex Cameron perform alongside international acts Wolf Alice, The Internet and Mac Demarco.

Wine Island

Although it doesn't flow from the taps or count as one of your five-a-day, Australians still managed to consume more than 70 million litres of wine in 2016, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics. If you love nothing more than a refreshing glass of sauv or full-bodied red, Wine Island is the place for you this festival season. Taking place on Clark Island, just over two kilometres away from The Macleay Hotel, visitors can enjoy more than 100 varieties of wine alongside great food and killer views of the harbour. For a piece of island paradise, look no further.

Good Food Month

What can you expect from Good Food Month? Why, nothing but good food of course! It's Australia's biggest food festival celebrating the extraordinary culinary talent of Sydney with cookery classes, special offers and dining events throughout October. Spend an afternoon listening to world-renowned chef Marco Pierre White talk through his expansive career, wander through the ever popular Night Noodle Markets and enjoy unique dining experiences throughout the city.

Get amongst the action of Sydney's epic festival season and rest easy knowing that you have the perfect Sydney city accommodation to lay your head afterwards.
